Thanksgiving....

Oh its Monday after an holiday, so that explains the extremely creative title for my Thanksgiving blog. I am sitting hear eating my super yummy turkey salad sandwich and trying to recount our great weekend.  It was action packed so I will only hit on Thursday.

Thursday morning was early because PJ wakes up about 7:30 and babbles for about 30 minutes and then is ready to start the day.  I wanted to be out of the shower before she was irate so I got up at the first sign of babbling and jumped in the shower.  Once she was happy and fed I put some sweet rolls in the oven and got ready to reintroduce Boogie to a Thanksgiving morning tradition, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  I was so excited, but I am sad to report she just wasn't that interested.  Still we watched a bit, ate our sweet rolls with Mimi who came to visit and then decided to hit the sale at Walgreen's before starting our contributions to Thanksgiving Dinner at the Cooper's.  Walgreen's had some great sales and we filled up a cart to the tune of $40, not bad at all.  I'm telling you when your on a budget it is worth it to scout out the sales, mom and I kicked butt.

Once we got back though it was time to get down to the nitty gritty.  That meant that Mom and Boogie made a homemade apply pie, and it was just too cute....

I did the pealing and mom did the coring and chopping, but Boogie got to do all the mixing and filling.

Boogie was very happy about her pie, and baking with her Mimi...

Boogie even got to put the A on top, she is doing very well learning to write her alphabet

Do you think they were happy with the finished product?

While Mom and Boogie were working on this I was working on a fabulous tray of The Pioneer Woman's Mac n Cheese.  I highly recommend this recipe if you love Mac and Cheese.  I just finished off the last of it today with my sandwich and it was still sinful.

I had to get Jon into the act so that I could snap some pictures, because I didn't want the cheese sauce to burn.

Jon then retaliated with pictures of me and little Trifecta...not my best side here.

Adding more cheese because you can never, ever, ever have enough cheese in mac n cheese.

The finished product just before the top layer of cheese and a smidge of time in the oven. Folks that I pure heaven in a casserole dish right there.

Once everything was made it was time to head over to my in laws for some more yummy food, and they did not disappoint.  Check out the feast that we enjoyed.

A wonderful array of food, and of course a prayer of Thanksgiving for being with such good friends and family.

Amazing desserts, notice Mimi and Boogie's pie in the middle left of the picture.

A gorgeous table to sit down at and enjoy our feast.

Beautiful attention to detail including a Thanksgiving card for everyone.

Even PJ got a turkey (hee hee) we she did get some Mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, stuffing and mashed potatoes, so she was stuffed like that turkey.

After such a great meal it was just time to sit back and relax and let the girls entertain us a bit.

They sure do love each other and I sure am glad.

Pretty soon it was time to go home.  We loaded up PJ, but Boogie decided to have a sleepover with Nah Nah and Bop.  So we headed home, happy and full of good food, ready to tackle the next obstacle...Black Friday shopping.  BRING IT ON!!!

Just for giggles here is our very own Lady Gaga and PJ showing off her new teeth....

Boogie is very Fashion Forward.

PJ is more then happy to show off those teeth.

Almost Wordless Wednesday....

We live right across the street from an air reserve base and a major manufacturer of military jets and commercial airliners.  It took quite a while to get used to the helicopters, cargo planes, fighter jets and jumbo jets that buzzed the neighborhood on a regular basis, but there are also some major perks to this little neighborhood.

Other then watching the practice maneuvers in the summer that the fighter pilots perform over our little house, once a year we get to sit in the front yard on our blankets without fighting the crowds and see this.....

It is a perk that we all enjoy more and more every year.

Gorgeous HinJew Wedding

Now please don't get offended by the title that is how my wonderful friends Shwetha and Jeff refer to themselves so I promise its okay.  Anyway this was a much anticipated event and it definitely did not disappoint.  Shwetha did a great job arranging and planning everything for not one but two ceremonies and basically a weekend of events that luckily were all held at the wonderful Ritz Carlton in downtown Atlanta.  Even with all the moving pieces the event could not have gone more smoothly.  It was so wonderful to see the support for such and wonderful and feel the love literally pouring out around them.

Boogie and I were lucky enough to be in the ceremonies with Shwetha, both of us in the morning Hindu ceremony and me in the evening Jewish ceremony.  What a great cultural learning experience for her, and me as well.  So our weekend started off with a Henna party for everyone interested in either family and the wedding parties.  Boogie was so excited and so was I, I love henna.  Of course now that I look for them I see that the henna pictures have yet to be uploaded oops.  Anyway the artist was fantastic, and fast, super fast and the patterns looked amazing.  Boogie was a bit heart broken because you have to wait for the henna to dry before you touch it or else it will smear. This is a hard task for anyone but especially a 4 year old, and despite her best efforts hers smeared a bit.  It wasn't horrible, but it took a while to calm her down and promise her it would be okay. So with our Henna done, we headed back to the house to swap Boogie for Jon and head out to the Rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.  The rehearsal was quick and straight to the point and then it was time for the real fun to begin.

The ballroom was gorgeous and there were little stations of every kind of food you can imagine scattered around the edge of the room.  It was very hedonistic.  LOL!!
There was lots and lots of singing.

Some dancing and......

Lots of smiling happy people....

Including our gorgeous couple.

The next morning the real fun began.....at the crack of dawn.  Boogie and I were dressed with hair done and in the car heading back downtown by 7:30am.  PHEW!

We looked pretty good in our gorgeous outfits, hand made in India.

Boogie defiantly knew that she looked good. :D

The groom in all of his finery...

All of the adorable flower girls...and apparently the hand out pose is Boogie's signature pose.  LOL!!

The beautiful bride and her mom...

The party outside before the ceremony...

Then we went in to wait for a little while...

Which was great we all got to talk for a while, and Shwetha presided over us. :D

Then it was time for the ceremony...the girls did great and before you knew it, it was all over...

My other two favorite people did make it and the little one looked cute if I do say so myself....

After a good lunch it was time to get my hair and make up done really quickly while Jon got the girls ready to go for a sleepover, and then run home and pick him up and head back down for the evening Jewish ceremony.  *Phew* I was really really tired by the end of this weekend, but it was so worth it.

The second ceremony was gorgeous too, but with the lighting being so low and Jon sitting really near the back there were only two photos...this one, and

This one, oh and notice I am the only one that could not keep my pashmina on my shoulders, stupid linebacker shoulders.  LOL!!

There was a nice cocktail hour before hand, I couldn't drink but the food was delish, and Jon and I got a couple of nice shots together.  It doesn't happen to often.  Oh and this dress was just to the point of not fitting, so thank goodness their wedding wasn't a week later.

Kim and Linda did a great job on hair and makeup and thank goodness this was before little trifecta started making my face break out like a 13 year old boy.

Again the tables were gorgeous and the food was good.  The band was fantastic and a good time was had by all.  Enjoy the rest of the photos, it was night I will never forget.  Congratulations Shwetha and Jeff.

Definitely a wedding to remember.  We left for SeaWorld and Disney two days after the wedding, which might explain Boogie's melt down on the second day of Disney.  The rest of that story is coming soon.  Promise!!
